Automatic shutdown

This problem all started from an earlier problem when I first received the "BSOD". After my own personal attempts to fix it which all failed I sent it in for repairs to Toshiba. I sent it in 3 times to get it fixed (they kept sending it back claiming there was no issue) until they replaced the motherboard. Now pretty much every time I boot up my computer I get this message on my desktop:

"Windows has encountered a critical problem and will restart automatically in one minute. Please save your work now."

Then my laptop re-boots but the same message keeps on coming up at least 5 times until it stops and I can do anything.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks.

Thank you for the quick reply.

Right, I tried all of that though I'm not sure whether it actually cleared it up or not.
I managed to restart properly in safe mode but when I restarted after that in normal mode the message came up again so it automatically restarted (only once). Then I followed all of the steps in the link you provided accordingly however there is a slight problem. Even though I restarted with only certain programmes running (until all of them were checked) there error message did not come up, so I don't know whether it has gone due to something in the steps or if it has just disappeared for a while as it usually does. Although, after this many restarts it normally does re-appear so it may actually have gone but do you have any idea as to what has caused it?

Either way, thank you for the help.

This is what you do
Go back to clean boot. If it works properly, you put one or two programs back at a time. That way we know the cause of the problem and can solve it.
Clean boot does not solve, it diagnoses.
Try to figure out, which program when put back, cause the problem
If you follow instructions, it will be solved.

That's exactly what I did but with about 5 programmes each time. The only thing confusing me is that even though after I restored every programme, the message did not come up after restarting which it should do seeing as it did before.

Well then you were very lucky. The bad program just had to be reset. Does not happen often, but I now consider it fixed. Post back if it happens, again.
This has happened before, but it is rare.
