Hello, I'm having a problem with my computer it is a Windows Vista Home premium 32bit. I have tried using a system restore disk but it tells me the version of windows vista is not compatible with the version of Windows I am trying to repair. I tried going into safe mode and activating the net admin account. I tried every possible username and password combination I could on the other user with no success. If anyone can give me some advice as to what I should do that would be great, I was told to do a factory reset but I have some files I would like to get back.

When I get to the login screen the only user is "other user" when I click that it gives me a username and password form I tried to fill them in with all of the combinations I could think of. I was able to get a look at my user accounts by using the system restore disk the files are still there and I know I'm typing in the right password. As to why my account does not show up I don't know why, one day my computer froze I got a blue screen and it restarted after that I could not log in.
