Error when try to install windows

Hi i have a problem with installing windows vista home. Yesterday i was on XP and i drop out my HP 625 and try to reinstall it with XP Again cuz it's load a litle before the windows load and bam black window the Error is 0x80042453 Can't create a new partition or somethink like that. I also enter in System Diagnostics of my HP and tryed Hard disk Test and load to 10% and says Test1 (Quick) .... Error: Read failureError: Read failure can i fix it or must buy some new parts?

Hi Guys and Girls just Joined Up All New To This , Not Sure Which Forum To Go To , I Want To load XP Over Vista But Every Time I Try To Load It Up It Comes Up Saying
( The File Ftdisk . Sys Is Corrupted ) What Does That Mean ? Any Help Would be Great Thank you .
