BSOD all the time

Hi all,
I have very serious problem. My laptop Acer aspire 5536 has landed on BSOD and nothing is helping it. I've tried last know good configuration, repair, tried to boot in safe mode, safe mode with command prompt, debugging mode and everything that is available ones i press F8 key. It still goes on to blue screen.

During the debug mode it loads storport.sys and afterwards goes back to BDOS. What could be the problem?

I have managed to log into the laptop using Ubuntu live CD, haven't installed Ubuntu. I can see all the personal files, I think i can also see Acer's recovery partition. B'se when I give ,

ls -l /dev/disk/by-label in the Ubuntu terminal I can see 3 things there. 1.Acer 2.PQSERVICE and the other is of Ubuntu.

also I can see all the personal files etc.. from Ubuntu, of which Acer>Preload is one folder

I also have some very long name folders hich have [1025].......[1044] ......folders, hich I think probably are Vistas restore points.

My question is, can I make recover /restore discs of Vista from Ubuntu? if so how?

Or can I restore Vista to previous date from Ubuntu?

Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Kal

Hi, richc46. and thankyou for quick reply. I have downloaded the BSOD Dump & System File Collection app (EXE file) but cannnot run in Ubuntu. It is coming up with some error and just hangs up.

But, I can give the details of the system

It's Vista and X86 based(32 bit)
the O.S is an OEM ,
do not have any disc to do with Vista, but the laptop has got some OEM numbers sticked on it.
Laptop bought in the last 2-3 years and OS must have been the same. But, Vista has got upgraded to SP1 or probably SP2.0.

I haven't been able to go into Vista through any door. I can only go online using ubuntu on this laptop and other XP based PC.
Is there any way I could run that .exe file I have downloaded?

Thanks again. Much appreciated.

Thanks RichC..Somehow(using Windows7 disk) I managed to boot it in Safemode. And I also managed to run the .exe file mentioned in BSOD posting instructions thread. But, I couldn't do perfmon/report. It's not working. I tried to see it in Control panel, but, there aren't many in Control panel in Safe mode , and neither this. Is there any other way to do this and attach .html file?

But, I'm attaching that zipped Windows_NT6_BSOD_jcgriff2 folder.
Please have a look.

Thanks again
Kal

TY RichC46. I tried to uninstall McCafe using Add/remove Programs. but, it keeps saying that I have "valid subscription for the programs and it includes free updates". IT has the following 6 components 1.Virus Scan 2.Site advisor 3.Anti-spam 4.PArental controls 5. Security center I tried to uninstall each of them individually, and each time I got the same message as above. I'll certainly try Malware bytes, I have it in other PC. I just wonder why it caused the problem all of a sudden. I must admit, I'm not sure how correct this is , but I have installed ORacle 11g R2 twice in the same laptop, without deinstalling the previous one, thinking that the second install will correct the errors that I got while installing the first one and thought the second install will just replace and add the erroneous files of first install. Well, don't know. I'm still scared to boot the laptop in normal mode. I have uninstalled both ORacle installations now. And need to do some clean up. But, you are doing a good job. Just wondering are there any tutorials, whether on this site or elsewhere, that might help me to learn and do what you are doing out there? It is very interesting. Thank you again. Kal

Make a system restore point, just in case. Download revo, and try to uninstall.

Reading the BSOD reports, just comes with experience. It is a science and an art. I have been doing it quite a while.
