I have very serious problem. My laptop Acer aspire 5536 has landed on BSOD and nothing is helping it. I've tried last know good configuration, repair, tried to boot in safe mode, safe mode with command prompt, debugging mode and everything that is available ones i press F8 key. It still goes on to blue screen.
During the debug mode it loads storport.sys and afterwards goes back to BDOS. What could be the problem?
I have managed to log into the laptop using Ubuntu live CD, haven't installed Ubuntu. I can see all the personal files, I think i can also see Acer's recovery partition. B'se when I give ,
ls -l /dev/disk/by-label in the Ubuntu terminal I can see 3 things there. 1.Acer 2.PQSERVICE and the other is of Ubuntu.
also I can see all the personal files etc.. from Ubuntu, of which Acer>Preload is one folder
I also have some very long name folders hich have ....... ......folders, hich I think probably are Vistas restore points.
My question is, can I make recover /restore discs of Vista from Ubuntu? if so how?
Or can I restore Vista to previous date from Ubuntu?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
