Black Screen Of Death

I just recently encountered my first BSOD. It's not just while doing something in Windows, it's on start up. I have a Toshiba Satellite L305 laptop, running Vista Home Premium 32bit. While starting up, after the Toshiba start up BIOS screen, or whatever it's called, the screen goes black and has a blinking cursor, like so, _, at the top left corner. I've tried everything... I put in my recovery disks (which I got from Toshiba), no go. It loads up then goes back to a blank screen, I've tried pressing F8 to go into Safe Mode, a no go as well. Pressing 0 at start up, nothing. I've tried asking on numerous forums about what is wrong, but I get nothing. Hopefully, one of you guys will have experienced this before or know what is going on and you will be able to help me. My father is going to take the laptop in for inspection at Best Buy tomorrow, so to save us some money, please help us soon. Thank you for your consideration. :)
