BSOD ataport.sys

I have a Dell Studio 1555. It was running fine until a few dozen people started inserting their flash disks in and out. First it got this dwm.exe error whenever I played games. I fixed it by disabling that thing. I can play smoothly now, but not up until recently when a BSOD popped with an ataport.sys. I'd run a lot more tests but I figured I'd show the minidump before doing so, just to get a quick opinion before I get into some uneeded processes to solve this. I'm hoping its just a rootkit, but I have no idea how to know. If its a hardware problem, I'm f'd. Thanks guys.

To help diagnose it, try these free diagnostics: Initial Hardware Diagnostics
If it's a rootkit, be careful on the removal - some of them can render your system unbootable.

Please provide this info for additional information: http://www.vistax64.com/crashes-debugging/282419-blue-screen-death-bsod-posting-instructions.html

I suggest making a system restore point just in case - and having a repair disk handy to boot from (let me know if you don't have one and I can suggest a link) and use System Restore.

I know this is Vista, but I suggest removing Daemon Tools because of this:
Daemon Tools (and Alcohol % software) are known to cause BSOD's on some Win7 systems (mostly due to the sptd.sys driver, although I have seen dtsoftbus01.sys blamed on several occasions).
Please uninstall the program, then use the following free tool to ensure that the troublesome sptd.sys driver is removed from your system (pick the 32 or 64 bit system depending on your system's configuration): DuplexSecure - FAQ

Some free alternatives (I don't use them, so I can't comment on them)
KernSafe iSCSI initiator, Virtual CD/DVD-RW Emulator, Virtual Encryption Disk and Virtual CD/DVD-ROM Emulator All-in-One free software.
MagicISO - Convert BIN to ISO, Create, Edit, Burn, Extract ISO file, ISO/BIN converter/extractor/editor
If it's not at fault you can easily reinstall it once the system becomes stable again.

Please visit the Dell website and ensure that all of your drivers are updated. At the bottom of this post is a list of drivers with dates - and below that is a list of links with more info about those drivers. These lists can help you determine what programs/devices these drivers belong to.

If the hardware diagnostics and driver updates don't fix it, post back and we'll try some other tests.

The following info is just FYI, I've already addressed the issues that I saw in the above paragraphs
