Have you tried IE with plugins disabled?

Where in the event log would you like for me to look?

To all......I really apologize for some of the delayed responses. My oldest dog (never went anywhere without her and my constant shadow at home) had to be put down today. You all have been great hanging in there as this has drug on and I appreciate your patience.

Frozen again while in Firefox while clicking on a tab. Time before in firefox using the scroll bar.Now using Safe Mode with Networking. No problems. In the event viewer under System
there was an error at 11:35:01 stating that the shutdown at 11:31.33 was unexpected.....and that's it.

If you click on an event, it should show the details of the problem.

As I understand it, this all started when you installed the 8400, I would go back to New Egg and try to get a replacement. It's really a crap shoot at this point.

    Re: Random system freezing

It really started here: Onboard video going?. And then the PSU went. But the system first froze with the onboard adapter and that went on for a couple of weeks before I got the Newegg card.

I just happed the notice that the onboard adapter drivers were "updated" around the time of the first freeze up. I just download the drivers that initially cam with the computer, just put it in safe Mode and I'm going to uninstall the updated drivers and install the oldies and see what happens.

Same. Froze up even before I launched an application.

    Re: Random system freezing

Did you look at the details of the event log, as I mentioned earlier?

I'm at a loss. It really sounds like a cpu or another mobo problem. The fact that it runs ok in safe mode, muddies the waters, in that regard. I think you've already been through a clean boot to remove any questions about software problems.

    Re: Random system freezing

Going back and forth with the adapters and for the first time with the onboard graphics I had a system freeze while in Safe Mode.

Nothing in the event viewer....absolutely nothing at the times the crashes took place/
