Your files show a hardware problem, code 124. Rather than take guesses, I will allow you to read one of the best posts that we have on code 124. Good luck

    Okay, Thanks.

Although that's in windows 7 forum? It doesn't matter does it..?

I've done a clean install now, so I'll read through the article and test a few things.

    Thanks

Does not matter Seven or Vista, they are the same with this problem. I gave you the Seven write up because that is the only one that we have. Seven is our sister forum.

    Re: BSOD random times

    Hi,

I've updated the drivers. Ran a RAM test - No errors.

The screen's not been playing up.. but when I press down on the keyboard )middle of the keyboard) quite hard or press a button pretty hard then the screen will temporary go blue. Does this mean it's a hardware error? The laptop is Dell XPS M1330.

    Thanks
    Damian

Try to do that in safe mode. If the problem happens its most likely hardware.

    Re: BSOD random times

    Hi Rich,

Booted it into safe mode and didn't happen. Then back in normal mode and it stayed normal. The problem comes and go's though.

Went into memory diagnostics and tried to run a hardware diagnostics, and it kept going to a light blue screen...

    Thanks

    Re: BSOD random times

If you ran it long enough in safe mode (which I doubt) and it does not happen its not hardware.
Try safe mode, again. Keep it in safe mode for an amount of time that would give you a BSOD, try to use the computer in safe mode. If no problem it is not hardware. But your reports show that it is hardware. Try to take the hardware tests.

    Re: BSOD random times

    Hi,

I ran the diagnostics tool. Every test passed par 2. 2 to do with the hard drive...
    error 1:
    "error code 0147
    msg: Error code 2000 - 0147
msg: unit 0ptical drive Bist - opu test failed"

    error 2:
    "error code 0f00:1A44
    msg: Disk_0_block 130332555
uncorrectable data error or media is write protected"

also left it running in safe mode.... and no random flickering of the screen.

    Thanks
    Damian

Did you run all the tests as shown in my prior post (Code 124)?
