Wireless adapter causing BSOD

I've been using a Belkin wireless adapter (model G+ F5D7051) for about a year now; for half that year i've been experiencing BSODs as the shutdown process comes to a close, which means the computer decides to restart itself for the sole purpose of telling me i've crashed.

Recently, this has gotten even worse: i'll (rarely) receive a BSOD during normal computer use, with the same error as always.

The error that appears is "irql_not_less_or_equal" and "usbport.sys". All i can tell is that it's a USB issue (at least i think it is), and since my only other USB device is a wireless mouse, i'm quite certain it's the wireless adapter causing this issue.
Another indicator is that the device commonly decides not to work until i've unplugged and plugged it back in an arbitrary number of times.

I've tried a number of fixes:

  • Enabling Driver Verifier (detailed on this site's sister forums at Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable - Windows 7 Forums), only i didn't notice any crashes in places it wouldn't normally crash, and Driver Verifier didn't really have any output report to save, so it's simply been disabled without having done much good

  • Reinstalling the drivers, using both the drivers that came with the disc, and those provided on the official website

  • Uninstalling old USB devices on my system (with DriveCleanup.exe, for example)
Nothing seems to have worked.
I've attached my .dmp crash report and the files from the SF Diagnostic Tool's reports.
If anything else is necessary, i'll be happy to add it.

As a final note, is it possible that Vista is causing issues with the installation of my drivers? I ask because the moment i connect my USB wireless adapter, Vista pops up with the "WOW HEY YOU JUST PLUGGED A USB DEVICE IN, LET ME INSTALL SOME DRIVERS". It does this while i'm in the process of installing the drivers. The driver installation consists of me running the application, then being told to connect my USB wireless adapter; and then Vista starts the hardware detected installation process, while the application is still running. Could this be causing issues? I've noticed it does this with my sound device too, when i try to update its drivers. Is this normal, or what? I can't find any solution to disabling this automatic driver installation process.

As a final final note, Belkin support is absolutely the worst support service i've ever had the displeasure of using.
Besides the non-native English speakers who refuse to read the information detailed in my question, opting instead to simply request things that are clearly present in my query, there's also the fact that they take forever to respond and refuse to help non-North American customers. Apparently i need to ring an 0845 number -- which costs -- if i want support.
