SFC repairs corruptions but keeps finding more!

Hi I am caught in a loop. Since yesterday I have run sfc about 8-10 times. Each time, it tells me that it has 'found corrupted files and has fixed them'. I restart my pc, and run sfc again only to find more corrupted files.
I also ran a system drive error scan but it found no problems whatsoever. So at the moment it's looking like a sfc issue.
I've attached the CBS log in a zip file here.

Those errors are fairly common - and are possibly the result of using out-of-date drivers.
The files come from the User Mode Driver Framework update - you could uninstall that update, or update drivers that rely on earlier versions.
As a guess. I would suggest updating your IRST drivers.
try downloading
and installing them from here - http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProdId=2101&DwnldID=21730

(you want the iata_enu.exe download)

Hi thanks for replying!
Unfortunately when I open the executable, it prints: "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing this software".

Very odd - please check in the Device Manager for the SATA Controller drivers - what model and version is quoted?
According to your specs, the board is an ASUS P6T?
According to ASUS, then onboard SATA chipset is the ICH10R - which is supported by both of the Intel drivers I posted.er
The manufacturer's release version is 8.6
The first set I pointed to is v11.2
The second set is v8.8 - so very close to what should already be installed by default.

Perhaps we should try and let Intel decide :)
Intel Download Center
Go there, and click on the Driver Update Utility 'Continue' button - follow the instructions.

Device Manager > Models installed:
Intel(R) ICH10 Family 2 port Serial ATA Storage Controller 2 - 3A26
Intel(R) ICH10 Family 4 port Serial ATA Storage Controller 1 - 3A20
Both Versions: 9.0.0.1005.

I clicked through to the automatic checker > chipset INF page, but it led to a dead end page:

That explains why the second set of drivers didn't install, at least :)

I'm still surprised that the later ones didn't install - but it may be that ASUS tweaked the firmware so the Intel drivers don't like it.

Please download and save the CheckSUR tool from System Update Readiness Tool fixes Windows Update errors in Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008 R2, and Windows Server 2008
(you'll need to look in the details for Windows 7, downloading from the Microsoft Download Center)

Run it - The tool can take anywhere from 5 mins to a couple of hours to run (or 'Install') depending on how much it has to do, and may exit silently - it may appear to freeze for most of that time, but be patient.
The result is logged in the C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log file - and an archive …\checksur.persist.log file

Then zip the CheckSUR.log and attach it to your reply

That didn't tell us anything :(

As far as I know, those 'errors' don't actually affect anything - certainly I do know that many people have them with no apparent ill-effect.
They appear to be more common in Vista than in Windows 7

Do you actually have any symptoms - why are you running SFC in the first place?

Well I had symptoms where desktop icons would mysteriously disappear and take forever to load everytime I refreshed. Also whenever I created a new user, it would load a black desktop, minimal icons and show a balloon telling me it cant load user profile. The default folder was virtually empty and my new user account would be stored in a system32 sub-folder.
I uninstalled True Image 2013 and it cure the vanishing icons, but had to manually restore the default folder from a previous backup to get user generation working again.
I ran SFC to ensure my system state is stable and safe enough to continue with.

In that case, I'd be inclined to let sleeping dogs lie :)

As I say, I've seen a number of Vista machines with this problem, and as yet I haven't found a satisfactory solution - although you could try uninstalling and reinstalling the update, I've not seen that make any difference in the majority of cases.

I see where you're coming from, I worry because SFC always helps me to ascertain and diagnose whether or not I have a major problem with my system state. This usually helps determine whether or not I reformat/restore to a backup.

This has happened to me in Win Vista Home Premium 64bits I had to restore my system to a fresh start. You need then to install SP2 ,,,IE 9 64 bit (wich include 32bit) and all drivers not included in the original restoration disk or partition....So be prepared to have SP2, driverscluded in your restorations...like usb cards, wifi cards, not in and IE9 64 bit or 32bit before you proceed....and make a good backup of all your documents and software installed not covered upto you restauration....At the end you will have the gfx display error and many other things to fix aftere your restoration but the "SFC found errors en fix them" will disapear after your restorarion....The only way I got out of the igfx display driver error was changing my display resolution and changing the registry display driver delay TrdDisplay, and forcing this time from 3 sec to 8 seconds...as recommended by HP....HP Support document - HP Support Center

None of the other solutions has worked for me to fix igfx error and sfc /scannow corrupted files ....My problems started when I was forced to update to Service Pack 2 and to IE 9.....When you install IE 9 start the igfx errors...sfc after SP2....I am in the middle of the start up after all this problems...

My Computer

Apparently this is the only thing can help to aliviate the igfx display driver error...after installing IE9... I change my registry underHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE ---SYSTEM---CurrentControlSet -----Control---GraphicsDrivers----Edit,---New--- eitherDWORD (32-bit) or DWORD (64-bit) depending your operating system and add theTimeout Detection and Recovery as "TdrDelay"- type 8 to Value data --- OK -- verify and restart...
Follow the provided link where HP explains this Timeout Detection and Recovery delay.
Good thing is that my SFC /Scannoe corrupted files are gone..SFC has not found any error after restoration...then nor error after installing IE9...then no errors after installing Norton 360...and no error after igfx crash...and no error after registry edit the TdrDelay...
Now to start installing all my MS Windows Offcie Pack...and Check for errors and so on my other software....
