I need some help with a laptop with Vista unknown specifics, starts in blue screen

The computer seems to be starting up, a small dos screen flashes in a blink of the eye, and the screen goes blue and stays there. If anyone could help I would appreciate it. Thank you, Jon

It's an HP Pavilion dv4 loaded with Vista Home Premium OEMAct Service pack 1

If it's one of those black HP's with silver stripes on it.....well then you have the next problem. Due to overheating it causes the north bridge IC to desolder itself of the heat, it cause the solder to crack and cause a hot spot or dry joint. This in turn gives variouse errors. If you are a little bit technical you can fix it yourself. Look on the net for HP DV graphics problems, the one were you heat the chip up.
