How likely is it that regular video driver blue screen crashes are caused be an insufficient power supply?

Thanks

Yes several times. I have also tried them from other sources and tried older versions. The problem exists. I have been told that the problem could be caused by the fact that my power supply is not powerful enough. I just want to know if it possible that an insufficient power supply would cause blue screen crashes because if not i can eliminate that as a cause.

in my experience when a power supply goes the drives and so forth do not work right and towards the end you have hard time just booting. i should know, it just happened to me :) it died over 1 month period of time, but i never had blue screens during that time

Its a 400W. I think its just a generic brand. It came with my colors-it case. I am using vista home premium x64 and ati catalyst version 7.10.

well with what you have in your system there is not enough juice to go around, so like for instance if you select to use the tv card and it goes to draw power that is not there it crashes. as far the chipset driver look at the asrock site for the latest on it

The asrock website lists all the individual drivers for sound, lan etc and i have got the latest version of all them. Here's the link: ASRock Motherboard - Product - ALiveSATA2-GLAN - Download

The thing i don't understand is that my secondary hard drive has xp on it so i can boot from that and i dont have any problems with blue screens in xp. just vista. Does vista use more power than xp?
