Web Cam Issue

Hi, I'm new to this forum and this is my first thread. I purchased my laptop, an HP pavilion dv6000 (that's whats printed on the screen), in Nov of 06 and received the Vista upgrade over the summer. As you all are aware of, I had a lot of problems. One that I could never fix was my web cam.

The web cam is built into my screen and worked fine before vista was installed. Once I installed it, it no longer worker. I attempted to download a driver but it never really worked and I kind of forgot about it. Under my Start>All Programs I have two folders with the following in each.

1. HP Pavilion Web cam>HP Pavilion Web cam...the second is also a folder and when clicked on the Start menu closes and that's that.
2. HP Web cam>Uninstall...I've unsuccessfully tried to uninstall and reinstall

Now I really want to use it with skype and can't fix it, can anyone help me?

Any help would be greatly appreciated...THANK YOU!!!!

Giuseppe

Re: Web Cam Issue

You'll need to find out from HP if there is a Vista driver available for it - more than likely that folder will still have the XP only drivers since your system originally came with XP.

Re: Web Cam Issue

Try to go to the Device Manager and uninstall the Webcam completely, then try to find some drivers on the HP site, or maybe across the Internet.

I installed my Logitech QuickCam Chat by uninstalling ALL of it, all drivers, all THINGS leading to it, then installed the last driver off their site, and voilà.
