Vista x64 will not boot with 4 gigs ram

I think this is a bios update thing - although I can not get an update from msi as their update thing doesn't support 64 bit os. Here's the poop. Windows will boot with 1, 2, and 3 one gig modules in all different combos but when I stick in the 4th it doesn't even get to post. However, when I take out the cmos battery, then replace it along with the 4 gigs installed - it boots, but with a beep and a post that says bad checksum and something about setting the clock. If I select go ahead with the default settings it boots right into windows and things are sweet. But from there if I reboot I'm back to square 1. If I select at the post thing (f1) to go in to change the clock - then f10 out, I'm again back to square one. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Reset the BIOS to default. Enable the memory hole. Are all the sticks identical? Are they fully supported?

Hey. Thanks for the response. Yes to the first two of your questions. The memory I have is manufactured by Transcend. I haven't been able to cross reference my motherboard with this memory or vise-versa.
