| Vista Business x64 | Re: no ide DRIVE VISTA x64 When I had the drive hooked up to the mother board the BIOS did not recognize it nor did Windows Explorer. Now that I have switched it to an external drive Windows still does not recognize it. In the device manager there is an exclamation point of the Serial ATA controller. In addition, Windows update will not install certain updates. Thank you. |

| Vista x64 Ultimate | Re: no ide DRIVE VISTA x64 Add the drivers for the SATA controller with the !. Do you get a option ROM error on bootup? I would suggest getting an external drive and backing up the IDE drive to it. Then, move the external drive to your computer and copy the files. It seems like IDE is not enabled. Do you have Parallel ATA or PATA enabled in your BIOS? You need both PATA and SATA enabled. |

| Vista x64 Ultimate | Re: no ide DRIVE VISTA x64 You could have a Option ROM conflict with your IDE, SATA, Video card, etc. filling the Option ROM area causing a conflict and no allowing the devices to load. |

| Vista Business x64 | Re: no ide DRIVE VISTA x64 Option ROM. Where would I find that? In the BIOS? If so, I don't see any menu that would have that option. |
