Bluetooth 2.0 EDR

Does anyone know if there is a reliable 64 bit vista driver for bluetooth 2.0 EDR? I seem to find information on > problems with bluetooth and vista 64 bit, but cannot find a clear answer if there is actually a Vista 64 bit driver.

Thanks

Re: Bluetooth 2.0 EDR

same here. I purchased a Kensington BLuetooth 2,0 adapter and have already spent 1 hour searching. The only sites that offer a download seem shady.. "fullreleases" and "downloadnova". Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated, or if you know of another adapter that comes with Vita 64 drivrs, I would return this one.
Thanks

Re: Bluetooth 2.0 EDR

Can either of you use WIDCOMM / BROADCOM drivers? If so they have a Vista driver that works perfectly well. I ma using it now with my Bluetooth dongle and BitPim to sync my cell phone to my computer.

dmex has also mentioned drivers from Blue Soleil that work great as well.

Re: Bluetooth 2.0 EDR

thanks for the suggestion. I am trying to sync my Palm E2 and I have been reading that the only way to do so with Vista64 is through Bluetooth.
so, what do you mean by "can you use WIDCOMM / BROADCOM drivers?"
i.e. what determines if I cna use it ? if I can download it, I can use it, no? are there other considerations? can you guide me a bit more.
thanks again

Re: Bluetooth 2.0 EDR

Yes - though you can download it and install it, if it is not compatible with the device you have for BlueTooth then it will not help.

To check to see if BlueSoleil drivers will work with your device(s) they have a check tool located here - BlueSoleil, 25 million users’ choice for Bluetooth software, Bluetooth driver, free download

Unless I am mistaken, though, the Blue Soleil drivers are not free.

If not, then see if you can get the Broadcom drivers from here - Broadcom Corporation - Bluetooth Software Download

Re: Bluetooth 2.0 EDR

It worked! thanks so much. A little tweaking because the instructions on my Palm E2 refer to a regular windows Sync software to connect to the computer. I had first to install a Vista 64 sync software. But now it works. Thanks again

Re: Bluetooth 2.0 EDR

I love those BROADCOM drivers - simple, sweet, and I keep my cell phone 100% synced with my computer since I bought it - every SMS / text message, every outgoing and incoming call, every calendar item, etc....

If you cell phone supports BlueTooth as well, look at Welcome to BitPim - It is a must have application.

Both the stable 1.05 and the test 1.06 work perfectly in Vista 32bit and Vista 64bit.
