it has worked on all motherboards I have tested so far that was having the problem,, asus abit and msi so far. its not a driver for the motherboard it is for an amd chip function. that is just the place I have been downloading it from,, again it doesn't matter that it is from the msi website

OK, then a bit more explanation would be helpful - more than half of the people who have non MSI motherboards would think the same thing.

This error also relates to intel quick resume technology, we need to see the system specs before posting any links for a fix.

Thank you, jackthejerk. Your suggestion helped me out of a similar situation I was experiencing on an ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe board under Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 64-bit.

Hi,

I have a Dell Dimension 9200 and got same problem with the installed Windows XP Pro. This link has fixed it and it is all good in the device manager now.

Amazing to find out that AMD is fixing Intel/Dell mess up!

Thanks for the link.

This worked for me on my ASUS M2N-E running Vista Ultimate SP1 64-bit

Thanks!

I just tried the link and it resolved the problem. I have an Intel DG965WH motherboard. I could not find any driver that would work. The link that JacktheJerk posted fixed it right away. It moved the device under System Devices. It is about the fourth one listed as "AMD AwayMode".

Thanks Jack

This worked for a MS-7502 Board under Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 64-bit.

Hi, I have just encountered the yellow ! under "Others" as shown within the Device Manager for my Dell Inspiron 531; an AMD Athlon PC with 64 x 2 Dual Core Processor @ 2.31 GHz.

Checking under properties I too had the ACPI\AWY0001 missing driver problem after doing a clean install moving from Vista 32bit OS to Windows 7 64bit OS.

I followed the link to MSi and downloaded the Vista_AMDAWAY .zip file containing setup.exe (filesize of 1,835KB.) Although the package will say it is not compatible it will run if you supply permission and try a second time. Having loaded the driver it appears to have solved my missing driver problem.

Please remember that making changes such as these do have a risk - so please proceed carefully making sure you know what to do should you need to recover or revert the change.

Ok all, i have registred new account on this forum just to thank you for this thread and the link (the updated link was good).

Just a strange thing that is an AMD driver that solve an unknown device problem on an Intel motherboard!!

It work on Windows 7 64 Bits (just run as Windows vista compatibility for working).

Many many thanks, i spent some 2 hours to find the problem and i found you!!!

My Computer

Hello,

I had the same problem as described above on an Asus M2A-VM HDMI Board with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.

I extracted the Vista_AMDAWAY.zip (it contains setup.exe and AmdAway.zip) and run the setup.exe. That did not work for me, as it detected I'm not running Win2000, XP or 2003.

I extracted the AmdAway.zip and Readme/ReadMe.rtf in it contains detailed install instructions. In short:
- on the problematic device choose rightclick > update drivers
- choose on local PC
- browse to the folder where you unzipped AmdAway.zip (where AmdAway.inf resides)
- hit OK/Next

(Free translation from German, exact English terms may vary ;) )

That installed it as "AMD AwayMode" device.

hope that helps,
Thinkpositiv
