Re: Boot problems

Hi, michael yancey, and welcome to the forums.

First, a word of advice - don't be sparing with your use of words. We don't want to see how little you can post and get your point across - we want as much information as you can give us. Screen shots go a long way as well.

Above, you said

Now, I am reading this to mean that it loads Windows (to a desktop) and then within 30 seconds it runs into an error, Blue screens, and the reboots, upon which you are asked some sort of recovery question, which you answer, and then it boots up just fine.

Is this correct? If so, we need several things:

  • What do you do as far as the recovery - what selections do you make, etc....
  • When it reboots from the recovery and it boots fine, is there any sort of message?
  • Can you disable Automatic restarting of the machine so we can get you to write out exactly what the BSOD states? (To disable automatic restart, Hold the WIN key down on your keyboard and press the PAUSE key - then click on Advanced Settings link (far left), and then on the Settings button under the Startup and Recovery section of the Advanced tab, and then uncheck Automatically restart. Click OK all the way out.)
