driver problem help

Hello im new here,

i got a new xps m1330 with windows vista ultimate in it, by the second or third day of having it i installed a microsoft update and when i reboot the system my whole programs file folder got erased, since i had few to loose i reformat the whole system and everything worked fine until today that i was watching a movie in it and when i finished the internet was dead, i checked the other computers and everything was fine in them, so i reboot mine and the problem continued, went to the device manager and all my network devices (wired and wireless) were unrecognized... I ran the drivers cd that came with the computer installed the new driver and the problem persisted. Windows told me to use the "check for a solution button" but when i click a window opens and disapears in less than a second, tried to do a system restore but it tells me to check the disk first, when i do it tells me to schedule a check disk for next time the computers boot and when it does it does not runs, i tried in safe mode and the same problem occurs.

I really dont want to reformat everything, the only problem is with the network devices, everything else is working fine.

any ideas of what else can i do? this is getting anoying.... nothing like this ever happened when i used xp...

thx in advance
