    I have a new HP Pavillion DV7 laptop.

    I've upgraded to Ultimate x64 bit for networking and have got a SM BUS CONTROLLER error.

    Is there a driver for this or is it a registry fix like the BD ROM drive was??

    If I recall correctly, I believe there is a driver update from the HP site. I just set up a DV7-1014ca from FutureShop for my nephew a few weeks ago an that rings a bell with me.

    Hi Rick and welcome to Vista Forums

    Here is a link to the main support and drivers download page for your computer: Product search results. As you can see, this is a very long list, so you will need the full product number (e.g. 'DV7-1100ef') in order to select the correct downloads page. When you have clicked on the appropriate link, select 'Microsoft Windows Vista (64-bit)' on the next page to go to the actual downloads page itself. On this page, there are the links to the drivers themselves, plus a group of links under 'Support for this product' which might prove useful.
