Audio Service Not Running

I dont know much about computes so I searched the Title and came up with this same following problem. I tried what was suggested but it did not work.....

I have been having a problem with my audio not working at all it just says
audio service not running on the task bar. I checked in services and tried to
start the audio service and got the 1068 error. So i checked the dependencies
and found that Multimedia Class Scheduler was not running. When i tried
starting the service i got error 2: the system cannot find the specified
file.

I tried this.....

1. Click Start, and then type cmd in the Start Search box.
2. Right-click cmd in the Programs list, and then click Run as administrator.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password or click Continue

3. At the command prompt, the following line, and then press ENTER:

sfc /scannow

AND GOT BACK THIS......

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Details are included in CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.Log.

Please Help!

Did you try starting the Remote Procedure Call service and then try enabling Windows Audio service?
Also, if this doesn't work, then you may also try a system restore.

Re: Audio Service Not Running

I do not know how to "Remote Procedure Call service and then try enabling Windows Audio service" and I would really like to try to avoid erasing everything on my computer. I have been following a someone elses info and tried this....

To open the entire cbs.log, try right-clicking on Notepad, and then choose
Run as Administrator. Then use File > Open to navigate to the log. Since
the log may be huge (it's used by other programs besides the SFC), you might
want to do this:

To create relevant SFC-only information gleaned from the cbs.log, and put it
in a small file called sfcdetails.txt, right-click Command Prompt (using the
shortcut in Start Menu\Programs\Accessories) and choose Run as
Administrator. By default, the prompt starts
in C:\Users\(Your Name). Type:

cd desktop

Press Enter on your keyboard. Then Copy and Paste this at the prompt:

findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log >sfcdetails.txt

Press Enter. Sfcdetails.txt should then appear on your Desktop.

Looking at entries for the latest date in that
text file , what files are noted as being problematic?

I could not get the code up to find the corrupt file. Any suggestions? I am really fumbling through this the best I can!

Re: Audio Service Not Running

Ok, I did a little research and tried all the options that you suggested. I am still getting a 1068 error. I also tried a system restore. It worked until I got to a certain date. It then told me that there was an error when it did the system restore.

Ok, I have tried both suggestions. The recovery disc says there is no problems. Any other suggestions?

Re: Audio Service Not Running

In the Service section the Remote Procedure Call, Windows Audio, and Windows Audio Enpoint Builder are all set to Automatic, but non are started. I can start the Remote Procedure Call, but I get errors when I try to start Windows Audio, and Windows Audio Enpoint Builder.
