Vista - driver software download

On my vivicam , it is a SET button and it is on the back of the camera. I do not have a start button.

If you cannot get it to work for your particular model , you may like to try the drivers from the link Night Hawk provided.

First, I suggest going into Device Manager, uninstalling the camera drivers you have (as they don't work) , and restarting your pc.

Then , if that's the only button you have, try pressing it

Night Hawk is the guy who posted the link for drivers that might work on Vista. If you look at the first page of this thread, you will see his posts.

Well I can't seem to make this work so if you ask night hawk when you hear from him , then maybe he may know something

The suggestion to right click on any Vivitar item in the device manager and choosing the uninstall option made by SIW2 would have been the best move. Once the system is restarted afterwards and you press the button Windows will then be detecting a new device added onto the system provided support was still seen.

That has to be one of the old models since the information for a June 2006 availability at a 3rd party site shows the last Twain driver was seen in Jan. 2003. VIVITAR VIVICAM 55 TWAIN DRIVER WINDOWS 98 ME 2000 XP - Download Drivers Free

That turned out to be a dead link at this point where going for something that indicates Vista ready or Vista compatible is the only real option if you don't get anywhere with the generic drivers already included in Windows.

Did all that and it tells mw it installed success, but I click on the program it comes up a with aconnection not reading at driver or usb?

Take a look in the device manager to see if you find any vivitar items there. Take notice of anything with a yellow on it. You would right click on it to choose the update driver option and see if Windows can install it automatically.

You may see something listed on "other devices" instead where you right click on it and select the browse to option to see if Windows will see and install the driver you hightlight from the folder you see created or unpack the download from the first link to.

The thing to remember here is you are dealing with an old model from a company no longer in business. Sometimes you can get Vista to take some legacy drivers and make them work while others simply won't. At least you made some progress since Windows is naming something there.
