Can't seem to Burn

Ok, I normally use Windows DVD maker to burn movies and for some unknown reason, it just won't burn :/ So, in order not to wait forever for the encoding stage AND finding out I still have a burning issue, I then founf a program called 'ConvertxToDVD' which I'm sure your familiar with. Encoded my movie perfect, but same problem, will not burn, although, it did get to something like 48% but then spat it out. I don't understand why its doing this as I have never had this problem before hand until now (my luck only) and to top things off, my DVD+RW won't erase.

I browsed the internet and came across this website to do with IDE/SATA and my properties wasn't the same as this persons. Instead of showing 'Master' and 'Primary' mine shows 'Port 0' and 'Port 1' -surely there's something wrong?

Any help or more info from me would be apreciated L:

Kindest Regards
Nick

Re: Can't seem to Burn

Just a stab in the air... perhaps you need newer/update codecs for what you are trying to burn?

Re: Can't seem to Burn

It's weird because, it burns and then doesn't burn :/ I think a little monster is inside it switching the work/don't work switch haha!

Serious note: I installed the newest Vista Codec pack from freecodecs website and doesn't seem ro have done the trick. Sent Pioneer an email so hopefully they will get back to me on the issue. Will keep you posted.

(BTW ...Try to disable all AV programs ...before you burn)

Re: Can't seem to Burn

Perhaps your Movie is copy protected and your app/software just doesn't handle it?

Have you tried converting the oem movie to Avi and then reencoding to vob? I know, twice the work but just for testing purposes.

Re: Can't seem to Burn

Well in response to your theroy of its dying, I've not even had it a year and don't tend to burn & burn continuously. I contacted Pioneer (still waiting) and if they come back with the same method as Tek said, then I'm on the phone to the company I purchased my desktop from and they will pay haha :/

@Asta -they are all .AVI I burn and like I mentioned before, never had this problem until I updated the Official driver from the Pionner website to 1.07 *New*.
And also, like I said before, it burns, then decides not to burn when it feels like it. I really don't understand :?

I'm using Philips DVD+RW and thought that may have been the problem so I ordered some "Verbatim" so hopwefully I won't have any issues with these as I'm told these are pretty good DVD's. *shrugs*
