Re: BIO's update...

On your motherboard, you should find the name and model it. It is usually in the middle of the board.

Re: BIO's update...

I would call them. Putting on the wrong BIOS can cause problems. I don't see a BIOS page on their site. Sometimes, you need to contact support for a BIOS rev. What is your issue?

Re: BIO's update...

I would never overclock.

I am looking for a new server board that can handle a pair of Intel Nehalem X5550 and a pair of 4870x2 video cards along with my 8708EM2 SAS RAID controllers. I want to upgrade to DDR3 1333 FSB RAM in triple channel mode. I talked with Supermicro about a new board. PC Power and Cooling has a 1200W power supply. I will get a HAF chassis and have the power supply customed wired for it. I also want to switch from Savvio SAS drives to standard 3.5" SAS 10K drives to reduce fan noise from the enclosures.

you dont have one mate because Acer have removed it , thats what you get when you buy a a manufactured PC from the likes of Acer/Dell etc , custom bios , thats also why your mobo doesnt seem to exist , because they renamed that too , then you have to goto Acer for a new one , nice aint they :P

incidently that model number you gave us is for the complete bundle , is there a specific model number for the tower , maybe we can look up the specs for you

Re: BIO's update...

I have found this link:

Acer Europe - Service & Support, Drivers & Utilities, Downloads, Desktop, Acer Aspire M1200 / M1201

According to that page, the Bios is R03-B2 but, it doesn't tell me anything... it may tell you something.

Trying to open the Pan American site was a pain in the A, well... you know! So I decided to use the European site.
