windows explorer (not responding)

plz help me
every time i go onto my computer or control panel it doesn't load up it keeps saying not responding :cry:
and also when i try to open a file on a program it also stops responding:(
i have windows vista basic 32bit,365gb hdd,502mb ram,3ghz prosessor
can any one plz help me

OK. Whenever something works in "safe mode" but not in "normal mode", you can be confident that the difference is down to additional componentry that loads during a normal boot. Hence, by selectively disabling a subset of those components and rebooting every time, you can usually find the culprit.

Run MSCONFIG and an applet should pop up that will allow you to perform a "selective startup".

Even better, get the Sysinternals "AUtoRuns" tool:
