Vista Tutorial - Windows vista internet problem

Hello everyone my name is Michael, todays my birthday and I'm 14 years old.
My father uses Linux, always has. I've been growing up with it, and I'm not afraid of doing a task without a GUI( GUI FOR NEWS), however our family pc, when we bought it came with windows vista home edition.

So I took the DVD, and I tried to install it on this old pc which for some reason ran fairly fast it has 512mb of ram.

When I installed windows vista I was pretty happy it was very beautiful, and I was sure of leaving it on this pc.

Now, I noticed it wasn't connected to the Internet. Upon loading up the manager to connect to the Internet I noticed there was not LAN connection.

I checked the driver manager my Ethernet drivers where not installed. I went to the website (3com) and I looked up the, the name of the driver.. But sadly it said it was discontinued and all the previous drivers where only for windows xp.

Is there anyone out there that can help me.

Have you tried looking for the drivers on a 3rd party site ?, a site other than the makers site, there are many sites that archive their driver list so give this a try.
