| Vista Home Premium 64-bit | Getting XP to work. Hey guys, I'd like to start out by thanking for any and all help...I really appreciate what you guys do here. Anyhow, I've got a Gateway MC7801u which is a 64-bit machine that comes native with Vista. I've got some old applications that require a 32-bit environment, so I decided to dual boot Vista and XP. It so happens though that some of the programs that I'm trying to install are also graphically/performance intensive, so the drivers are essential to making this work. I'm, however, not having any luck thus far. Its not as easy as just looking on the manufacturers website for the drivers, since I'm changing 2 variables. I also tried just searching google for the specific driver (i.e. Mobile Intel GM45 Express Drivers, Intel GMA 4500MHD Dynamic Video Memory Technology 5.0 drivers, etc.) but still don't have much luck. I've tried programs that backup and restore your drivers, but it just doesn't seem to be working. I finally just decided to throw up a white flag and see if anybody here had any ideas. I came to the conclusion that somebody out there must be experienced at this sort of thing, and that maybe I was missing something...an easier method perhaps. Anyway, thanks again for any and all help. EDIT - I just realized that I made the subject "Getting XP to work" also...ignore this title, as it is incorrect. I meant to put "Getting Vista drivers to work on XP". Last edited by Voide; 07-08-2009 at 07:07 PM.. Reason: Wrong subject. |

| Vista Home Premium 64-bit | Re: Getting XP to work. Yeah, but it still isn't working right...I think I can get it to work on Windows XP if I was just able to find a driver for my video card/processor for XP...i'm just having a problem finding a backward compatible version of the driver |
