Latest Nvidia drivers

Ok so the deal is everytime i install the latest drivers from NVIDIA i get a blue screen, it does not occur when i install the drivers from the cd for my graphics card, no other issues with any other drivers, have tried a fresh install of vista and installed latest video drivers first still same bluescreen, i have tried with a different video card to no avail still same issue, any help appreciated

Intel Quad Core 2.4
4Gb Kingston HyperX 1066
Gigabyte Geforce GTX285
1 x 500Gb HDD
1 x 640Gb HDD

Logitech G19 Gaming Keyboard
Logitech MX400 Laser Mouse

P.S I have tried windows 7 and i still get the same issue

Gonna make a backup image of system and try 32bit and see how it goes will post outcome

Did you double check to get the 64-bit drivers, not 32-bit? You should also reboot after installation.

Did you double check to get the 64-bit drivers, not 32-bit? You should also reboot after installation.


of course i checked, sometimes during installation it will BSOD sometimes its after the reboot but its definately when i install the NVIDIA 64bit drivers

Does your monitor have the x64 driver/profile as well?

Have you uninstalled the installed drivers before installing the new one? What about the PhysX drivers, did you uninstalled this as well?

When you install the drivers, do you do so with Higher Privileges? (Right Click on file and "Run as Administrator?")

I have found that uninstalling both the driver and physX helps me tremendously.

uninstalling old drivers has not been the issue since i have been trying to get this running from a fresh vista install still with no luck
