wireless

my laptop was full of junk so i decided to change it back to factory settings while doing so my laptop crashed deleting everything (vista included) so i got a recovery disk from my friend (toshiba satellite pro also running vista) i installed it and it was fine thee only problem is i cant turn on the wireless switch i tried updating the drivers but in devise manager it wont appear

any help?

Hello Rodredrum,

Do you have a Applications and Drivers disc that you would have created from your OEM recovery partition? If you do, you can use it to install the correct drivers for your computer from it.

You can also check at your laptop manufacturer's website to find the drivers for your specific laptop model.

windows update

i tried windows update but it says all is up to date, and brink, when you say manufactures do you mean vaio or toshiba?

also the recovery disk was made by the Toshiba computer not the original disk

Whichever one is the brand for your laptop and not your friends.

What is your computer's model number? I'll also take a look to see if I can find the driver download page for you to.

ok it says my laptop is a sony vaio VGN-NS20E s, i think all it says on the front is VGN-NS20E

but on the bottom it says sony Vaio PCG 7154M

ok i downloaded it, ran it, and the progress bar fills then disappears with nothing to show for it, i have a gadget that shows the cpu usage it flies up to 99% then 0%

nothing happens

You might see if you can do a factory recovery now from your hard drive.

no thats what erased my hard drive in the first place :/ plus my vaio has only toshiba apps no vaio things
