Blue Screen 0x0000007E

Hello, I am having trouble with a blue screen issue. I only get the blue screen when I take out my usb flash drive after I have ejected it, and when I flip the switch to turn off my wireless card, and when I start it back up from a sleep state. I can still turn it on after being shut down and it will run fine I can access everything and the computer runs smoothly untill one of those 3 things happens. Every now and then it will come up randomly but that has only happend once or twice.

I have not installed any new hardware or software in months. I just started happening. The only real thing that happened that I can think would change anything was that Vista updated itself, I don't know if that helps.

I am running a Dell XPS 1300 with Vista Home Premium, SP1, 4gb ram, Sata hdd etc.

The error message reads:
STOP: 0x0000007E (0xffffffff0000005, 0xfffff8000220cb81, 0xfffffa6002174798, 0xfffffa6002174170)

Please Help!

Could you go into C:\windows\minidump, zip the dump file and upload it to us for us to look at?

Re: Blue Screen 0x0000007E

Hi,
I was having the same problem when removing any usb devices. After searching all day i found some info that a recent windows vista update was the cause.

Try uninstalling the following windows update KB973879. If your not sure how to do that just do a google search for uninstall windows update.
That worked for me.
