Racing wheel + usb = blue screen

Bought a racing wheel a long time ago. (2000-2001 maybe)

Thrustmaster Ferrari Force Feedback Racing Wheel

It comes with 2 ports on it , a usb 1 and a old 9pin serial port. Wasn't sure if that device would work on vista 64 but I found drivers on the manufacturers site for Vista 64bit

http://ts.thrustmaster.com/eng/index.php?pg=view_files&gid=1&fid=2&pid=33&cid=1

During the installation of the driver, they are asking to plug the device in the usb port. Thing is each time I plug the racing wheel in the usb hub, I get a blue screen of death. I don't get that with any other USB devices (IPOD, USB key..) Do I get that because my product is too old and cannot operate with my OS or do I get that because theres an issue with vista surrounding usb ports.

Hi Habsfan

I've got exactly the same problem with Vista x64 and a Thrustmaster Force Feedback Racing Wheel. I've had it working before but it's recently stopped. Did you ever solve it?

If so, how?

It's so frustrating!

Thanks

nop never solved it hehe... I stopped trying to make it work. I'll wait till something like the Logitech G25 drops in price and get it. Too bad :/
