Vista - DVD drive problems

For some reason my DVD drives don't work. I ran troubleshoot and it says the drivers need updating. So I check for updated drivers and it says that the drivers are up to date. Could anyone provide information to help me resolve this issue.

Try uninstalling the drivers, then reboot PC.

your dvd drive doesnt need a driver i assume you meant delete it from device manager then reboot

next you could try Your CD drive or DVD drive is missing or is not recognized by Windows or other programs

I did what you said, deleted it from Device Manager and rebooted. No result, its still in doesn't work. under device status it says.

Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)
