I started a thread here: http://www.vistax64.com/graphic-cards/260611-unknown-device-cant-find-nvidia.html#post1190982

Apparently I'm not the only one with this issue, but we can't seem to figure out how to fix it.

The long and short is that my NVIDIA GeForce 9200M GS is no longer recognized. I have tried installing the drivers from NVIDIA and from HP with no luck. When I reinstall, I get a message that an error was encountered during install and access is denied.
Looking for help. The laptop is under Best Buy warranty, so perhaps I should take it in as a warranty issue?

have you tried installing the drivers 'as admin' or from the hidden admin account ?
