Watch the screen as soon a the lap starts to boot. It will tell you to press a certain key(s) sometimes an "F" key. Reboot and press the key. This takes you into the Bios. Look for Hard disk diag or something similiar. Run the diag . If it runs through and reports no probs then you know its not the Hard drive. If however it stops during the diag then your Hard drive is suspect. If it shows a #7 then your hard drive has become flaky. Usually you are better off replacing it. Although it is possible to partition the drive to avoid this.

As well as that may work , it could be driver conflicts , check the event viwer , then post your results
