No Audio Output Device

I was reading an older post and the OP seems to have found the solution.

I have an HP Pavillion2845 Laptop.

When I hit F10, I enter the BIOS setup. However, I can't locate the tab to Enable/Disable the sound card. I tried pressing other Function keys at the startup (DEL too) but to no avail. I feel like I'm missing an obvious step.

Give this site a try:

HP Business Support Center

It is not tech support provided by HP. It is voluntary support provided by HP business users. But there are some savvy people on there. As an example, I had HP PCs with Intel chips that kept locking up due to overheating. The fans never bumped up to higher speed when the CPU got hot. Turns out there was an "Easter Egg" or undocumented hotkey that opened a page in the BIOS setup they don't tell you about in the manual. On that page I could set the fan speeds and trigger temperatures.

I found out about that setup page in the HP business forum.
