For months, this keeps popping up:
"FOUND NEW HARDWARE - UNKNOWN DEVICE.

Found driver software for your device, but encountered error
while attemtping to install it.

Microsoft 6to4 Adapter

*Insufficient system resources exists to
complete the requested service.

If you know the manufacturer of your device, visit its website and
check the support section for the driver software."
..........
I keep trying to locate it. The attempt is always unsuccessful and I dont know what this adapter is. It keeps trying to find it and I can't stop it, even though it
asks me to stop asking, it never does.

Pls Help! Tips, advice, suggestions to solve this. Thank you.

Hi Milly,

6to4 is a technology related to IPv6 and IPv4 communication. If you want to know more about that, please refer to the following document that focuses on it:

Configuring and Deploying IPv6 on Windows Vista

Download details: Configuring and Deploying IPv6 on Windows Vista

In short, Microsoft 6to4 Adapter is used for communication in mixed environment including both IPv4 and IPv6. *Very* few people are using IPv6 at this point. That will no doubt change in the future when all the IPv4 addresses are used up, but right now all the websites you use and all your network apps know about IPv4, not IPv6. So you're not going to have to worry about IPv6 for quite a while yet.

The simplest solution is to go into Device Manager (
Start – Run – Type devmgmt.msc and click OK).

In Device Manager, click View and select Show hidden devices – expand Network Adapters – right-click on 6TO4 adapter and click on disable.

Reboot your computer.

Please report the results, one way or another.
