Acer drivers update utility

Hello Again.
I have got a program called Acer drivers update utility. Its showed me so many drivers to update.

1-So i wish to know whether it would help me in improving my system's performance if i update all of those drivers?

2-And is there any possibility to get any problem in my system after updating all the drivers?

Hello Trader,

Updating drivers can increase your performance some, fix bugs in the previous driver version, or may add a feature. Sometimes a updated driver may cause a problem as well, but not to often.

To be safe, I would recommend to create a restore point before updating your drivers. This way if it does cause a issue, you can always do a system restore back to that restore point to undo it.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Thanks for the advices.
Infact i was also not sure about not getting any probs bcoz of updating all the shown drivers.
Really, computers r becoming a big prob for me. However, i can try my best to do what Shawn has advised about creating a restore point.

In last 10 days, my system got frozen atleast 4 times and everytime i needed to push the power button to turn it off which is very harmful for the system,i know this. i had lost all the data and had to reinstall windows before 3 years on my old laptop.
So i thought that i should update my drivers, however a program called spyware terminator may also makes my system frozen,so i have disabled it's auto scan and auto-update functions.Hope,it will help.

And i don't have a good experience with Acer website and their support. I had uninstalled the Bio protection program as per their advice and when i reinstalled the latest version from their site, it never worked on my laptop. They always try to sell their pay for support services,no matter their support guys r not worthy of paying even a single penny.Infact their support is very notorious and one can read thousands of complaints about their not only free, but even pay for support services.

Yha, I too got rid of the bio whatever crap.

Have you tried giving it a good clean out?

I HAD HEAT ISSUES, AND HAD TO USE A VACCUUM, oops, to suck out the bottom inlet vents while i blew air into the exhaust side.
You can use a progfram like hwmonitor from CPUID - System & hardware benchmark, monitoring, reporting to see if it is heat related.
So do the restore point, and I'd stil use the d/ls for the chipsets from the acer suport driver download page.

I have an 8930 btw.

And i m using 6920 and that Bio protection was helping me but now i m not getting that anywhere. If u can, then tell me how and where to get that. The one which is given on Acer's support website (ABIG Driver), didn't work.

Cheers.

Temperatures look good at idle, should check while gaming or other load activity.

My fingerprint stuf all came off the acer site, but mines a Viladity brand.

Infact the temperature is not very high even when my many trading platforms are running.
I am looking forward to get the Acer Bio Protection as it was very helpful. But not sure where to get one now.

Have u ever faced the problem of slowing down your Acer laptop?

Intentionally slowing it down? Nope...

I haven't had any slowing down of my system, but i do keep it clean. My only issue I had was my video card got dirty and would shut me down. Cleaning it out fixed it up.

I'd definately do a system restore point, then update all your drivers.... And try getting the newest program versions too.

Infact u r right. I should also update all of my drivers. I have already created a restore point.I think, after updating all the drivers, system performance will be improved dramatically.Atleast i hope so. Have u used DriverMax ? Its very popular out there.

Hello.
The latest is that i used Fix-It solution of Microsoft and now my laptop is not working slow. But it keeps shutting down and Freezing. So i updated the display driver and also tried few other things, but no help.

Finally, today i realized that my battery has become old and bad and its backup time has been reduced from 2 hours to 30 minutes. Thus, right now,i am running my laptop on power supply,by removing the battery.Let's see if it helps.

PS:I would appreciate if i get an expert advice about whether a bad battery can really makes a system frozen and shut down, even when laptop is running on AC supply but battery is inserted.

Thanks.
