Network Controller problem

I'm having a huge issue with my network controller, ive been looking up and trying every possible thing to fix this. Basically in the device manager it shows up with a ? next to it, i try and update the driver it says it cant find the drivers, i try locating the drivers myself, they wont install. Short of getting a new laptop i have no clue what else i can do.

It used to work before, i ended up getting a virus, and reinstalling windows, ever since i reinstalled windows i cannot seem to get this network controller to work. I have a Inspiron 1526, im using Vista ultimate. I assume that this is the reason i cant find any wireless networks, cant connect wirelessly Any help or ideas you could give would be much appreciated.

Also, im not sure if this is connected, but i cant install Adobe.

OK first of all can you install anything? Have you installed anything else? Could definitely be a Windows Installer issue (as far as not being able to install the driver), I had one a while back. Next, if you could post a screenshot of your Device Manager window with showing the problematic driver ( http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/289032-screenshots-files-upload-post-vista-forums.html ) I'll try to find a solution online for you, drivers are usually straightforward fixes. Use the Snipping Tool (Go to Start and type "snip" without the quotes) to capture a screenshot. Also, where did you download the driver from? Just in case, save a System Information file by going to Start and typing "msinfo32" without the quotes, then File > Save and upload that file as well as the screenshot, it'll make it easier to figure out exactly what you need. Shouldn't be too hard to fix this!
