Hi all,
I need help. I have a Tungsten E2 that was purchased in 2005 (I think) I am trying to install onto a newer computer with Vista Home. I have the install disk and that went ok, but I am unable to hotsync. I read in another post that this model does not sync with vista is that all versions or is there a driver that can make this happen?
Thanks

Thank you Rich, it says it is compatible. Now I am going to try the Tungsten website again. My husband said that if it is compatible then there should be something available to make it work. Do you have any other suggestions?

Fasdmom,
We, at this forum, have a rather extensive knowledge regarding the use of Vista, we do not know about every software that can be used with Vista, however. That being said, I must confess that I do not know much about Tungsten, but my research has revealed the following: that at least a few years ago, your problem was experienced by many and that a solution was promised by the Tungsten people.
There is nothing new from MS in this area, the solution must come from Tungsten.

Ok, that is not working either and I cannot seem to find the Palm One website anymore. All other drivers require buying them. Do you know of any that are free and not just a trial?

I think this is where you want to question and or research. A solution for Seven will probably work for Vista. If it does not we may be able to use compatiblity mode or something to make it fit
Tungsten E won't hotsync on Windows 7 - Support Community

Just saw your profile. You seem to have a strong opinion on FASD, Im not familiar with it. Can you tell me what it is?

FASD is Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder. I am an adoptive mother of a child affected by the bio mother's drinking during pregnancy. I am part of the board of directors for FASworld Canada a national organization for FASD. We are getting organized to lobby for changes to the services and supports for those affected by FASD and the secondary disabilities caused by the mother drinking during pregnancy. FASD is the only preventable disability there is. Alcohol during pregnancy cause organic brain damage and almost always damages the central nervous system and the sensory processing system. Currently 1 in 9 babies born in Canada are affected by alcohol during pregnancy.
Sorry for the soap box, there are way too many people (doctors included) don't know this also include many that are affected themselves and always wondered why they could not do anything right and why they are different from everyone around them. If you or someone you know has further questions there are a few really good websites to more information:
FASlink Fetal Alcohol Disorders Society Home Page
www.fasworld.com

I home-school our daughter because of her Sensory Processing Disability. She is one of the ones that has acute hear and an inability to processes out back-ground sounds. The school systems are set up in a way right now that is to drug them. I am not against the use of medications to improve the quality of life, but these children are drug to the point that they are not functioning to their peak potential. This and many other issues is what we at FASworld Canada are working towards to change for those affected with FASD.

Well, we both learned something today. Im sorry about your daughter, but of course there is nothing that I can do to help, but rest assured that I will offer every help that I can with your Tungsten Problem. I think that the website that I suggested will be a great help in your quest to find a solution to your problem.

Thank you Rich for all that you have tried to help me with. I have tried and tried again. Then I set my husband on it with all the post and links. He tried and tried, nothing has worked. We could not even get the wireless working without hotsync first. Looks like we will be setting the E2 for a Viking Funeral soon or at least the Fireman 20lb sledge. :)
