Microsoft ISATAP Adapter installation problems

Recently, with no explanation, windows vista installed a new adapter (Microsoft ISATAP Adapter) but this was unsuccessful as it appears on my device manager with a yellow explanation mark saying it is not functioning properly because it cannot load the drivers (error code 31).
I've read that I can safely ignore this issue but I would really like to get rid of the yellow explanation mark.
When I try to update drivers it says the latest drivers are already installed and up to date.

What can I do to get rid of this yellow explanation mark, get the adapter installed successfuly and never reappear the problem again?
Any help is appreciated.

Regards,
Nuno Magalhães.

Welcome
In device manager, try roll back to previous version, if that version did actually work properly.
Then set windows upadater to notify and not install. When the updated version is downloaded, right click on it and set it to hide

Hi, the problem is that there is no previous version. The driver installed and appeared the first time with a yellow mark with no reason.
By the way, I uninstalled that adapter and now it never reinstalls. Guess it is not important though.
