where can i get HP Recovery Kit for my PC, After a Reinstall of Windows Vista 64bit

A lot of Hardware has been changed within my PC, & i want to do a fresh install of windows vista via a DVD, As my recovery disks are no good because of the old hardware drivers, I have downloaded all the Drivers i will need from HP but am struggling to get this driver called HP Recovery Kit (heres the site)

Pls can someone help me on this site heres all the information you will need:-

MODEL NUMBER:- p6109uk
PRODUCT NUMBER:- VD007AA#ABU
SERIAL NUMBER:- 3CR93101FH

VISTA 64BIT

What happens is everytime i put my product number in the P/N Box I always get no results found, A bit weird if you ask me, If someone could Explain why im getting (no results found) when my product number is valid i would be grateful thanks......

Welcome
What you want is a back up of your hard drive/OS. Most of the members of Vista, in the know, use the free Macrium. If you back up your hard drive once a month, with Macrium, you will always have a current back up. No need to reinstall, software etc.

Macrium has saved me once, when MS updates caused major problems for me.

When you enter your Pin, enter only VD007AA. (The first seven digits.)

Even If you get the HP recovery to work, you may want to try Macrium, it is used by most of us at the Forum and has helped many.

Thanks Richc46 for your input ill give Macrium Reflect a try But i really do want to make a set of recovery disks for the new hardware, as i plan to reinstall windows Vista tommorow when my new HDD is delivered..


Also XGenius you are correct that i should only use the first 7 digits & not put in ABU.. I have tryed that several times with results always saying, no results found..

also is there another place i can get HP Recovery Kit or a third party software to create recovery disks or can i contact HP & ask them for the HP Recovery Kit drivers..

Doesn't HP have a Recovery Manager that allows you to make recovery disks?

XGenius it does but as i said i have a lot of new hardware like GPU,PSU,HDD.SSD,DVD drive (New one) which makes the recovery disk a bit useless that said can i copy SMINST folder in Programs files (86) as this is the HP recovery Kit and use it after doing a clean reinstall of Vista via Vista DVD

also i Managed to get through to the site with my product number and it wants me to pay £33.00 for HP Recovery Kit (F@#k that i am not paying for something i already have) I think my best option is to use the software Richc46 Suggested Thanks all for your advice i really appreciate the time you taken to answer my question, So once again thanks

Here is a great tutorial about Macrium. If you want more detailed explanations, Ill get the author to come talk to you.
Basically, you take a picture (image) of your operating system. If you ever have a problem you use that image to reinstall. Everything will be there, settings, software, paswords, everything.
