Vista - Microsoft WPD FileSystem Volume Driver - keeps installing on boot

I've had to go back to Vista (XP install gone gaga), and this problem appeared again.
Looks like it's to do with my card reader - a cheapo 15 in 1 reader bought 5 or 6 years ago.
The reader appears as 4 devices in device manager. Disabling Compact Flash (CF) solves the problem. All the others install correctly once CF is disabled.

For the record, I downloaded BIOSAgentplus, updated all drivers. Then changed AVG 8 for a different AV. Vista works pretty well now.

If that is indeed the case and your card reader is causing the problem then I suggest that you replace it. They are relatively cheap these days and most also offer support for the newer SD standard, SDHC, which I very much doubt that your current reader has.

Yes, you're right. Come to think of it, I did have problems with a micro-SD in one of those adaptors - couldn't read or write.
Not a priority right now, most of the time I just use USB to my camera or phone, and my laptop has a built-in reader that seems to work with SDHC.
