the other day my dad bought me home a new graphic card, installed it and it worked perfect, got the latest drivers from nvidia, sorted. I then decided to take it downstairs and plug it into the tv to see how good it really was. plugged it in via a "nvidia compupack" thing and it worked fine screen res was a tad high, but i could change that to how i liked it, great! took it back upstairs and plugged it in and it worked, so then i think, i have got an old portable dvd player with a "vid in" plug on it, so i assemble a plug from s-video to 3.5mm and it worked. so i reboot it to finalise it.

here comes the problem, it can see the dvd player but wont extend my display onto it, checked the makeshift converter and it looks fine,. when i select the dvd screen it says "this GPU supports a single display, to use two displays on this computer, reboot the computer" so i reboot and its still the same!!

help me please!!
thanks, daniel

This is driving me crazy just installed 64-bit home premium because the 32-bit oem made explorer crash my rig is pretty new hard ware wise the components don't have over a year of use yet.however could it be something with the bad install of 32-bit I wiped the whole drive?

SLI-Fire: Nvidia and ATI on the same board?

About a month ago I read an article from the Inquirer telling us all that a company has developed the technology to support both ATI and Nvidia Graphics cards on the same motherboard in a hybrid like SLI-Fire configuration, it has been talked about rarely but was hoped for, if theoretically it could offer better performance than 2 identical graphics cards in the same configuration. This company claims that an Nvidia GTX275 and an ATI 4890 in "SLI-Fire" can offer better frame rates than 2xGTX275's or 2x4890's (having your cake and eating it too). If this was truly the case, we could all benefit from this, There wouldn't be ATI vs Nvidia wars, it would be someone boasting that: "my GTX 395 in SLI-Fire with a 5970 kills anything out there and it runs faster than 2 of the same VGA's in SLI or CrossFire" this will then become a race to find the best combination of cards to put in a mobo especially if there are 3 or 4x PCI 2.0 slots.

You can find the article below, but Im not too sure if ATI and Nvidia will play nice and encourage motherboard manufacturers to integrate this "hydra" chip into their mobo's (royalties and all that for this new company) only time will tell, but this will take time to come into production if it ever does come to pass
I formatted my hard drive made it nice and clean, reinstalled the driver played a game for a bit then....... the display driver stopped working!
Im sure I have fitted it correctly with the right power suplier

Hi there all,

I have an ASUS M2N-Sli Deluxe mother board with a AMD Athalon 62 x2 (Dual Core) 2800Mhz 5600+ Cpu, With Nvidia nForce 570 SLI MCP Chipset and 2x nVidia 8600 GT 256RAM. I have been using this set up for over 2 years.

Just last week the fans on my Graphics cards over heated and kinda melted for no reason, I wasnt watching a movie nor was i playing a game. Due the fan on the GPU melting i orders some new ones ie NorthQ (NQ-3860A). The fans work fine and are keepint the GPU cool enough, But i cant detect and of the cards on device manager and i cant change the resolution nor can i load nVidia control panal so i can change the resolution from there and set up the SLI cponnection.

I have also found that with the second GPU When put in the PCI slot comes up with Green lines and a very very unclear picture.

Can any one please help me as i have the computer connected to a 32 inch lcd tv and it hurts my eyes, besides that i cant watch any movies
:(((((

Thanks in advance Hitesh

My parents bought this computer for me last year from Circuit City for $600. At first I was like "YES!!!! I can finally play good games on this computer. We were surprised by how "good" it was and the price compared to that. Well, last year my definition of good games had to do with low graphics. Now that I'm older and games have gotten better, I need a new graphics card. Now that Black Friday is coming up, I have a great chance at low prices. I need a new PSU (Power Processing Unit) to accommodate the greater power I need for a new card. What PSU should I get? Then I need the card itself, which needs to be able to fit into the right port in the computer. What is a good but not too expensive graphics card? Some more help I could use is knowing what ports for video cards does an a6700f have? PCI, PCI express, AGP, and/or etc.? Another thing could be a picture of the internals in the tower. I want to know what I will see before I open up the cover. Somebody please help, I need to find out all these things fast before Black Friday sneaks up on me. Thanks!
