I bought a song from zune. I want to add text to the file's comment field
"bought from zune".

However, the comment field cannot be edited. In fact none of the values in
the details tab can be edited. When compared to other files that I can edit
the comment field, this song file has an additional field called "protected"
and is set to yes.

I already checked and changed the file security so that I have all the
permissions (delete, rename, ...).

How can I edit the comment field?
Should I just upgrade directly from Windows Vista in the original edition
(after a recovery) and without all the other updates to Windows 7 (saving a
lot of time), or is it better to do all Vista updates before upgrading to
Windows 7?
>Next time a complete recovery is necessary I'll save a lot of time going
able to make it do what I want it to do. Acronis however works
perfectly for me! I had a laptop I was working on with a bad hard
drive, I made an image and after putting in the new drive, booting
from the boot disk Acronis made it restored the image to the new drive
and everything was perfect!! I highly recommend it!!!
It normally shouldn't matter, but if it were me, I'd do the
installation after the upgrade, just in case.

Massive Shadow Copy File

Hello.

Hello.
I have a big problem with the windows Shadow Copy.

\System Volume
Information\{a20e83b4-d2e1-11de-970d-001e8c98772a}{3808876b-c176-4e48-b7ae-04046e6cc752}

The file is 34 GB.
With my HD size I simply can't afford it!

My Vista Home Premium is working perfect, I don't even need system
restore points right now, and I take full responsibility saying that in
case anything crashes, I wouldn't even mind starting over fresh and
having that 34GB back would be a better solution that to live with it
right now.

I tried Disk Cleanup, which said it could remove all but the newest
shadow copies, and it didn't remove that file. Which means its a new
file? I don't know.

I'm quite sure it was caused by the defragmentation program that I used
"Diskeeper" that maybe somehow made that file a whole lot bigger, I
stopped using it and the file doesn't grow anymore. I believe it grew
from 20GB to 34GB just after letting Diskeeper run on Auto
Defragmentation, and I couldn't risk it making it any bigger.

Any help will be appreciated!
Thanks.

Thanks R.C.White! That did the trick :-) 34gb cleared in 2 seconds hehe
All I had to do is tell it not to make Shadow Copy for the HD, then it
deleted everything. And now I can even let it do it again if I want, and
it will make the default small copy. Good to know its possible to clear
out the shadow every once in a while if needed. Much appreciated! :-)
And thanks Richard, good to know!

> When I got my Vista Business laptop in spring I had a lot of problems
> accessing folders which I'd transferred over from my previous laptop which
> was running XP, and I kept getting messages to say I did not have
> permission
> to open the folder (or something like that) even though I am the only user
> of
> the Vista machine (as I was on the XP machine) and I have administrator
> rights in Vista.
>
> I'd like to know if my folder structure is like that of other Vista users
> or
> if I've got some irregularities there which are still causing indexing,
> search and access issues.
>
> For example, if I click on 'Start' (the Windows logo button or key), then
> click the 'Documents' link under [My name ] (at the top of the right-hand
> column, in black), Windows Explorer opens and in the address line at the
> top
> it says > [My Name] > Documents. In the left-hand pane, 'Documents' is
> highlighted and in the right-hand pane, sure enough, I can see all the
> sub-folders of 'Documents' (i.e. what was 'My Documents' in XP). BUT if I
> scroll up to the top of the left-hand pane and click [My Name], in the
> right-hand pane I then see a number of folders, but Documents is not one
> of
> them. I know by trial and error that to get to 'Documents' from here, I
> have
> to click on a folder in the right-hand pane called 'Links', then click on
> a
> SHORTCUT to Documents in the Links folder, to get me to the 'Documents'
> folder. Is this the same for everyone?
>
> Another possibly related example is that when I use Windows Picture
> Gallery,
> I simply can't add any pictures to the Gallery from 'my' Pictures, I've
> had
> to put them all in the Public Pictures folder to be able to view them
> using
> Gallery. (Using Windows Live Picture Gallery makes no difference). I get
> a
> message saying I don't have permission to access 'my' Pictures folder or
> that
> it's a system folder.
>
> I'm obviously not understanding something, so I'd be grateful for help or
> pointers to more reading.
