Michael:

Welcome to the Vista x64 Forums

If you're running newer hardware with signed drivers and the game software is 64 bit compatible, you shouldn't have any problems.

I haven't had any problems yet.... but I've got a few more games to install before I can say that for sure. So far, so good though.

I read on other forums that some games on Vista 64-Bit run very slowly. HP Pavilion is really not a gaming pc, I think it is geared towards basic functions. If it came with intergrated graphics adapter, I would not be surprised if it performed poorly in games.

Re: 64-Bit issues

I just switched back to Windows afters 2 years on Mac, so... all my games are pre-Vista. I've only tried to install one (Beyond Good and Evil) and it didn't work. From what I've heard, it's a $#%#$ copy-protection issue; basically anything with copy protection won't work in 64-bit. Which is pretty much every game. Whether Microsoft is going to do anything to remedy that situation is anybody's guess. I'm not holding my breath about getting any of my games to work. I've seen compatibility lists, but I haven't had time to try installing any other games.
