After installing devil may cry 3 it doesnt start an this error is prompted

Hi A.Q.

You might see if putting the game's dmc3se.exe file or shortcut in Compatibilty mode using XP SP2 will help it run properly afterwards.

thanks for the info but i tried using it in the compatability mode with the privelage level on run as administrator still no difference
any more ideas?

Well, the c0000005 error is a memory access error. You might see if adding the dmc3se.exe file to the DEP exception list in step 7 here to see if it helps.

i placed the file on the DEP exception list and still nothing, could this be caused by not having all the latest upgrades because the laptop is kinda new or should i just be playin/buying/installing games specifically made for vista?

To avoid problems you should buy games made for Vista, but usually games made for XP will work in Vista. Sometimes you will have to use Compatibility mode on it though.

According to the game's publisher Ubisoft, it is not compatible with Vista, but for Windows 2000 and XP only.

It was worth a shot to try Compatiblilty mode to see. You just never know until it crashes.
