Try easing up on it a little at a time to where it is still smooth yet not slow. When i built this system, I maxed out all the features I never could before, one at a time if I wasn't sure what they did, and the "Synch every frame" did me the way you are describing. If you have it on, turn it off and try it. Hope that helps. LOL I don't know much about computers but I DO know my games. Check out our COD4 clan server sometime. I don't know if I'm allowed to post it here but if you want I can send it to you in a PM. EDIT: I also went with the 9800GX2. I got two of them and am running SLI. How is your sound card working? I have one but haven't put it in yet as I see many folks having problems with it. Last edited by Bubba; 04-16-2008 at 06:53 PM. Reason: Missed info |

There might be an option in your Windows mouse settings called something like: improve pointer precision, this I personally think should be unchecked. Also after going from Windows XP to Vista, Vertical Sync also known as Vsync is enabled, after forcing this to be off, I feel that the ingame experience is so much more comfortable. |

I'm not sure about playing online (cause my internet connection is quite bad), but I know that two things that are essential (which can help in this case) are: 1.) Mouse Sensitivity 2.) Monitor Refresh Rates If you have a good quality mouse, use the latest drivers and set your mouse rate to a reasonable settings (500Hz is ideal....over that is unnecessary, and chews unnecessary CPU power). Whether you're using a CRT or LCD, always set your monitor to the highest refresh rate of any resolution. Also, if you have the power from your PC, set VSync on all the time. It maintains FPS to your current refresh rate and shouldn't be hectic on your eyes. Aside from that, I donno...if you've played FPS often, then you should be accustomed to the genre by now. Otherwise, you'll just have to play and get used to it. r2rX |
