Battle for Middle-Earth 1

Hey,

I got Vista Ultimate 64 last week and once I tried running Battle for Middle-Earth on it, I get debugs before the game fully loads up. I have no idea on how to stop this and it's driving me insane! I've played the game for 3 years now and I'm staff for the game on another website, I really don't want to stop because of this.

Can you help?

Thanks,

Taterz.

Sorry, I didn't know about the bump thing :(.

Heres the SS's.

I've tried running as Admin and under a previous windows. Plus creating my own options.ini (Has worked for a few friends) etcetc.
I'm out of idea's :(.

Im guessing you have updated the game...Did you upgrade the game installation from a previous version of Windows or was it a fresh clean install?

I found the problem myself, when I was checking Ripbox's idea (Which didn't work, sorry to say) I noticed that it wasn't creating all the correct files when installing. The things it was missing was all the data inside "My Battle for Middle-Earth files" (C - Users - Your name - Application Data). The folder was there but not the stuff inside.

When I put it all in (Taken from a friend over MSN) it worked perfectly, I'm not getting firewall issues or errors. :D

Now I've checked it with Battle for Middle-Earth 2 and Rise of the Witch-King (BfME2 expansion pack) and its also worked.

Well, if you guys didn't know this then I hope you can help others having the same issues. I'll check these forums for any BfME related issues too if you'd like.

I feel such a fool for not noticing that too :(

Thanks,

Jack AKA Taterz.

All of the Battle For Middle Earth games work for me on Vista 64, including Battle For Middle Earth 1, which works fine without my having to patch it.

They worked even when I had SLI, but ended up dumping SLI due to various driver issues.

What goes in the map folder? I still get a generic directx error, and the lotr support .exe does not recognize Vista as an OS therefore, I cannot even start the game.

The stock power supply with these slimlines MUST be considered b4 purchase, only 160W!@! Also proprietary, difficult to find replacement and to replace. I bought the PC for the memory, small size, & media center w/ the awesome remote control.
