Re: Uninstall Call of Duty

I STILL have the same question Brink about the tool I sent you. Will it not work? Have you tried it? I ask because I trust that YOU try programs before you recommend them. It's purpose, as I understood it, is to solve problems like Amplid is having, getting the last hardcore "ranger" elements of a program off your computer so you can reinstall it.

Re: Uninstall Call of Duty

Hi Bubba,

I thought about that program too, but it does not support the 64 bit Vista version though.

HexManiac, the one you said isn't in there, does this mean it's off of my pc? The ones that are in there are:
Amplid
That is the wrong key. Navigate to the following key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Activision\

and delete the entire Call of Duty 2 key.

Your capture shows the:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Uninstall

key.

Have you TRIED it on the 64 bit? It worked on my 64 bit. LOL Didn't we have this conversation before? I'm asking seeking knowledge, not to second guess you bro, but when you said that before you misread the documentation. I'm wondering if you've sought further info as you are WAY more in touch with this stuff than I am. The link I sent you is supposed to be the 64 bit version.

EDIT: and it IS a Microsoft tool that the microsoft dudes and dudettes use, heck they used it on my machine...........

Re: Uninstall Call of Duty

I must be thinking of a different program. Can you send me the link for it again? It's hard to keep up with all of them sometimes.

Thank you,
Shawn

Re: Uninstall Call of Duty

Ok Hexmaniac, I did what you said and went where you told me to go, but there isn't an Activision folder anymore, only this one:

When I do the 'Find next' button for Activision, all it finds now is this under HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Internet Explorer/LowRegistry/Audio/PolicyConfig/Propertystore , but I dare not delete that one, or am I allowed to, Hexmaniac? Brink?

LOL I'll try to find it and send it to Brink and let HIM test it. I'm not qualified. It is an uninstal tool that microsoft techs use, I copied the link when dude was working on my computer via the internet lol.

No, don't do any deleting. Use this and see if you can see if Call of Duty 2 install config still exists.

Description of the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility

If you see Call of Duty 2 using this utility, delete it. Then you should be good.

Re: Uninstall Call of Duty

Hey amplid,

Just Reinstall the game, that would let you uninstall it properly without all this registry editing and deleting files yourself. It would also reduce the risks of accidentally removing a vital system component or file and causing a bigger problems.
